About me

Lovely to meet you, I’m Sophie.

For the last five years, I've worked in the NHS, private practice and charity sector. The people I have most commonly worked with have experienced low mood, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, addictive tendencies, body image difficulties, life transitions, low self-esteem, bereavement and chronic health conditions. I hold a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology from City St. George’s, University of London and am accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (408825; BACP), Health and Care Professions Council (PYL048232; HCPC), and the British Psychological Society (BPS).

Alongside my private practice, I work for Altum Health, a specialist eating disorder clinic based in London and at the Wren Project, a charity that supports people struggling with the emotional impacts of autoimmune diseases, I am one of the lead trainers for incoming volunteers. Alongside my clinical work, I'm engaged in academic research exploring the experiences of couples who share psychedelic journeys together.

Two aspects of my life that have shaped how I work are, firstly, that I grew up in Switzerland, which gave me an early education in navigating different cultures and the texture of being between places. Secondly, I also grew up in high-performance dance, so I understand the drive to excel, the satisfaction of discipline and the punishing self-criticism that can accompany this at times. This gives me a unique insight into the worlds of people who push themselves hard in pursuit of success, but are beginning to wonder what the cost of this sacrifice might be.
